This morning, Joshua Navy JROTC Cadet Brooklyn Reames signed her National Letter of Intent with TCU to continue her academic career and compete in rifle at the collegiate level!
Cadet Reames was joined by her family, fellow cadets, instructors Lt. Col. Davidson and Master Chief Linville, and Joshua High School students and staff to celebrate this milestone.
After competing in a youth league in Ft. Worth, Cadet Reames began practicing with the NJROTC during the spring of her eighth-grade year. The summer before starting her freshmen year, she earned a spot on the varsity precision team. Since then, she has finished near the top in many matches she has competed in at the local, Area and National levels.
Since the beginning of her freshman year, Cadet Reames has qualified for four Navy National Championships and this past February, she won the Navy Championship as an individual, besting her third-place result in 2024. She and her team advanced to the All Service Championship (Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines) in March, where the team took fourth and Cadet Reames placed fourth-high individual. She has won numerous local and Area contests as well. She is also a three-time National Junior Olympics qualifier.
Along with all the team and individual wins, Cadet Reames has been part of several national records, most notably the CMP Navy National Standing Record and the CMP Navy National Team record.
Cadet Reames has served as a Platoon Commander, Operations Officer and is currently the Commanding Officer of the NJROTC. She is a graduate of Basic Leadership Training and Leadership Academy and this past Fall, she was recognized by the Legion of Valor with their prestigious Bronze Cross for Achievement. The Legion of Valor is comprised of the remaining Medal of Honor and Service Cross recipients; the Bronze Cross is awarded to less than 50 high school and college cadets each year.
Congratulations to Cadet Reames and thank you for representing JISD in such an excellent manner!
