The Joshua Navy JROTC rifle teams made a remarkable showing at the Navy Nationals competition in Anniston, Alabama, including an individual champion and two top-eight teams!
The cadets not only their skill but also their determination under challenging circumstances! Despite unexpected issues, such as a power outage in the middle of the night causing alarms to go off, cold showers, and the low temperatures breaking seals on a pair of precision rifles, the team persevered.
The Precision A team, composed of cadets Brooklyn Reames, Nathan Catoe, Riley Woods and Andrew Dent, displayed outstanding talent, ultimately securing second place after two days of intense competition.
Team Captain Reames demonstrated exceptional focus and composure during a nail-biting final round to earn first place and the individual title!
The Precision B squad of cadets Gavin Ross, Riley Palmer, Kadence Parsley and Hayden Miller took seventh place.
The success didn’t stop there as the Sporter A team, consisting of cadets Ethan Henry, Alexander James Glenn, Jacob Rotermund and Jayden Werner, achieved an impressive 11th place. Sporter B, with cadets Korbin Bowman, Ryan Walley, Davin Footitt and Brody Motley, finished 31st.
This excellent performance amid a high level of competition showcases the diligence of our cadets.
